It is important to note that without life we cannot complain or grumble or even express gratitude. Without life all is finished, done with and we lose the right to praise or otherwise.
Most times we take life for granted and behave as if it is our right.
We forget that nobody choose to be here and we cannot or should choose when to leave. That is why suicide is very serious act against God and note that whatever you are going through at the moment is not by accident as we see in Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
As long as we are alive; this is the very reason to praise the Lord as it says in Psalms 150:6 “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.”
Irrespective of circumstance we find ourselves we should be thankful? This is what Job did in the mist of his calamity Job 1:20-21 “At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”
If you read the whole of Job 1 entirely, he deserved a medal for such intelligent emotional reaction. Most people would have arrogantly questioned God, blamed him or be psychologically so traumatised and ended up in hospital but not Job….he said finally “may the name of the Lord be praised!” He had not only just been bankrupt, lost everything he had worked for but also his sons and daughters!
Job was very much aware that all belong to God and we are simply ambassador or care taker. And often we want to die or upset ourselves for what we don’t own in the first place. It says in Psalms 103:Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Note that that there is no qualification to above passage. It says “all that is within me” meaning in sickness or health or whatever circumstance we are going through-BLESS HIS HOLY NAME! Irrespective of how 2015 ends for you, let everything that has breath praise His Holy name!
