It is easy to put our trust in what we see, ourselves or each other.It is good to be there for each other, especially in times of need or trials and tribulations.
But our ultimate trust should be with the Lord, irrespective of how pressurized or beaten!
The quoted verse below says it all: Jeremiah 17:7-8 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes; Its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Fears and worries are sometimes inevitable in life, but we need to be well rooted in Christ; such that we are not moved by what we see-remember David was not moved by Goliath see 1 Samuel 17:32 David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.”
We often read or see in the Bible the word “Do not fear or be afraid”
Why? Because fear is opposite of faith and when we fear; we are saying to God I do not trust you. See what Jesus said to his disciples in Mark 4:40 “He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
Fear is of the devil and does not generate positive feelings or rational thinking.
Medically fear reaction stems from lower brain function and crude at its best.
When God comes into any fearful or difficult human situation, the first thing He does is to deal with the fear. As fear and faith are like day and night or light and darkness. You cannot have both fear and faith at the same time.
Moses said to the Israelites Exodus 14:13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.”
In the verse above, we see Moses dealt with fear of the people and at the same time offer a strong word of faith-“There Egyptians you see today you will never see again”
Peter started well with faith walking on water, but began to sink as fear sets in see Matthew 14:30 “But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
We cannot use same devil instruments to fight him. As we come to the end of the year what lies has devil be telling you?
REFUSE to fear or worry about any difficult situation you may be facing right now.
Just as Jesus was in the boat with the disciples, the Lord is reassuring you and saying the same today see Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
If you are really His child; the song on your lips should be:
“I ‘ve a father that will never ever fail me
I ‘ve a father that will never ever fail me
Jehova baba that will never ever fail me
Rock of ages never ever fail me…”
I rebuke every power that says you will not see your deliverance before 2017.
I pray that you will not carry the same sorrow and sadness into 2017 IJMN.
